Inter House Sport – update!

Over the past two weeks in PE, all Key Stage 3 students have participated in Inter House Cross Country.  This provides an opportunity for students to trial for the school Cross Country team as well as to challenge themselves.  In order for all students to participate fully and be successful, two different races were held:

Circular Race: Students in the talented groups, along with any other students who wanted to challenge themselves, ran around the perimeter of the Rec for 20 minutes. The aim of this race was to complete as many laps as possible, with each lap just over 800 metres.

Paired Relay:  Students in the coloured PE groups competed in the paired relay race.  Taking turns, students completed one lap of the football/rugby pitch.  On the completion of one lap, they tagged their partner who completed the next lap and so on.  The aim of this race was to complete as many laps as possible in 20 minutes.

At the end of each race the number of complete laps was recorded and Mr Salter calculated the results which can be seen below:

All students performed exceptionally well with many outstanding performances and have given Ms McGrandles a tough job of selecting the Cross Country team.
